Bottoms Up Press
Exercise by Ken Black, RKC

The Bottoms Up Press is an excellent tensioning exercise. Along with all the benefits of the regular Military Press, you get the added benefits of developing a vice-like grip and working the biceps with the stabilizing tensioning required to perform the lift.

Ken Black describes how this exercise is used to teach the presser how to keep their shoulder firmly in its socket and pressing from the hip to increase strength and power in the presser's regular military press.

Ken Black is Sacramento’s foremost authority on kettlebell and alternative strength training. He was the first person in the Sacramento area to earn the Russian Kettlebell Challenge (RKC) certification. He offers Kettlebell Seminars, classes and private training an in the Sacramento area.
